PCEA Chogoria Hospital was established in 1922 and serves as a referral and teaching Hospital. It has a 295 bed capacity that focuses on the provision of Curative, Preventive and Promotive Health Care services in Tharaka Nithi County and the greater Meru, Embu and as far as Isiolo and Marsabit Counties.

The Hospital is seeking to fill the following position:

1. HR & Administration Assistant 

Job Duties and Responsibilities

Job Purpose: the job holder will be tasked with the responsibility of assisting in a variety of employee -related administrative tasks.

  1. Updating employee record information (e.g. new hires, separations, annual leaves, sick leaves) by entering information in the HRM information system, editing, verifying and updating the existing data as required.
  2. Maintaining physical employee records (soft and hard copies) by ensuring there is good filling system and updating personal employee records.
  3. Preparation and updating of employee establishment register as per the departments/units to be in line with the requirements of the Hospital.
  4. Provision of clerical work on HR issues.
  5. Maintain mandated register for workplace injury and reporting.
  6. Induction for new employees.
  7. Ensure that the Hospital’s records for OSHA requirements are in line with the Act.
  8. Process employees’ requests and provide relevant information
  9. Coordinate HR projects, meetings and training seminars
  10. Collaborate with the office to post job ads on the Hospital website and process incoming resumes
  11. Provide HR administrative support such as placement of advertisements, receiving and filling applications, inviting candidates for interview, organizing interview venues, issuance of new staff identity cards etc, during staff recruitment processes

Minimum Qualifications

  • Diploma in Human Resources or relevant field.
  • Registered with IHRM
  • Over 1 year work experience as an HR & Administration assistant an added advantage.
  • Computer literate.

  • High integrity levels and good listening skills
  • Good written and verbal communication skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills
  • Good knowledge of the Kenyan labour laws
