PCEA Chogoria Hospital was established in 1922 and serves as a referral and teaching hospital. It has a 295 bed capacity that focuses on the provision of Curative, Preventive and Promotive Health Care services in the greater Meru, Embu and as far as Isiolo and Marsabit Counties.

Reporting to the Senior Administrative Secretary, the Administrative Secretary’s main role is to help keep the Hospital to run smoothly by taking care of the Administrative tasks that make the hospital function.

Main Roles and Responsibilities.

  • Receiving visitors and directing them while ensuring they are comfortable and well refreshed
  • Typing of official documents
  • Filling documents
  • Handling incoming and outgoing telephone calls.
  • Ensuring security of office, documents and equipment
  • Maintaining of personal files and other document files
  • Organizing and servicing meetings (producing agendas and taking minutes)

  • Working closely with HAT and other departments in all matters secretarial and administrative

Minimum Requirements.

  • Diploma in Secretarial Services from a recognized institution

Job Purpose/Description:

Reporting to Support Services Officer, the successful candidate will be responsible for coordinating and supervise the outsourced cleaning services in the hospital to ensure a clean, safe, and comfortable environment.


  • Schedule and supervise cleaning and carry out routine inspection of assigned areas to ensure cleanliness and hygiene standards in line established guidelines.
  • Prepare and monitor execution of checklists for assigned areas to ensure full compliance to cleaning standards.
  • Carry out staff induction and continuous training for new and existing outsourced cleaning staff to ensure they understand and adhere to the hospital’s code of conduct.
  • Monitor the usage of housekeeping consumables and advise the requisitioning authority on the minimum order levels to ensure their availability.
  • Identify and report all repairs and maintenance issues in assigned areas and follow up with maintenance department to ensure timely closure.
  • Ensure proper segregation, handling, and transportation of hospital waste in line with waste management guidelines.
  •  Ensure outsourced cleaning staff wear appropriate PPEs as they work in the different hospital sections to prevent cross contamination.
  • Receive and attend to complaints related to cleaning services and follow up to ensure timely closure; and any other responsibilities that may be assigned to the job holder by the supervisor from time to time.


 Diploma in Hospitality Management from a recognized institution.

Minimum of 3 years’ housekeeping experience in a hospital or hospitality environment.

Job Purpose:

The Longitudinal Care and Linkage officer will provide guidance related to linkages through the continuum of testing to enrolment (Test & Treat), continuity of care, patient retention strategies, and adherence support.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Ensure that 100% of newly identified Positive clients are linked within supported facilities.
  • With the guidance of a clinician or TAS Lead; Conduct TPS session/health talk in support group (group or one-on-one) for newly identified Positive clients.
  • Ensuring linkage to care of all HIV-positive clients and same-day treatment initiation through the 'handshake' approach
  • Escort Newly identified clients and hand over to TAS lead for enrollment and ART initiation process
  • With guidance from HTS lead, support behavior interventions, peer support, assisted partner services and conduct home visits
  • Track and monitor the implementation of linkage activities, using agreed indicators as guided by the HTS lead
  • Serving as a point of contact and information base between the community and facility
  • With guidance from the HTS lead, Participate in screening for eligibility of clients in OPD
  • Reviewing the HTS Registers/KenyaEMR daily to ensure that all clients are tracked for initiation on antiretroviral therapy (ART)
  • To identify, Mop up non linked clients for assessment and tracing in liaison with CHVs and peer educators;
  • In liaison with TAS Lead coordinate all existing Cohort support groups for newly identified positive clients and ensure 100% attendance; Ensure registration of new clients and timely follow up.
  • Implement patient tailored support at facility level; Listen to and document their complains with the aim of finding solutions especially to those complains that might be hindrance to good adherence/Clinic Appointment
  • Collaborate with community health volunteers and peer educators and HTS /TAS teams to provide telephonic tracing services for patients lost to ART initiation or on follow up for linkage
  • Promoting the 'Welcome Back' strategy and Implement case management of clients returning to care or returning for linkage
  • Remind clients on their appointment days through the appropriate means e.g. voice calls, text or WhatsApp;
  • Participate to coordinate and manage the activities of the facility Wits linkage hub.
  • Keep a tracking log of identified challenges, Compile weekly reports on the outcomes of tracking and tracing activities
  • Actively tracking and documenting patients who have transferred out of the facility/Linkage to other facilities
  • Compile weekly data and submit data for telephonic tracing to the TAS lead
  • Participating in the facility's bi-weekly and monthly data review meetings.
  • Supporting the facility staff with data collection, collation and verifications related to the linkage
  • Tracking linkage targets, and preparing and submitting monthly reports
  • Submitting daily, weekly and monthly data reports to the facility
  • Participate in Multi-Disciplinary Teams (MDTs) to discuss EACs/ CQI meetings to discuss linkage Performance.
  • Any other duties as may be assigned by the supervisor.

Professional Qualifications:

NASCOP Certified HIV Testing and Counselling Professional/ Adherence related course


4 years’ relevant work experience, 2 years’ experience at community level

 Job Purpose/Description:

The PrEP Champion position is a new position created with the aim of improving our PrEP uptake. The PrEP champions will focus on awareness creation at facility and community level, identification of those at a high risk of HIV acquisition, referrals for PrEP initiation and   maintenance of adherence interventions to PrEP Medication.

The PrEP Champion duty station will be to a large extent the OPD and MCH departments.


  • With the guidance of a Clinician or trained Health care worker; Conduct health talks (group or one-on-one) for demand creation for PrEP at facility (In OPD and MCH Departments) and community level.;
  • To identify those at a high risk of HIV acquisition and refer them to the Clinician for further assessment and initiation;
  • Ensure more than 95% screening for eligibility of clients in OPD and MCH.
  • Ensure that 95% of those eligible are started on PrEP.
  • Ensure that PrEP support groups are active and running; to be held on a monthly basis;
  • To Coordinate all PrEP support groups and ensure attendance; Ensure registration of new PrEP clients into PrEP support groups
  • Serve as the contact person for PrEP Clients at facility level; Listen to and document their complains with the aim of finding solutions especially to those complains that might be a hinderance to good adherence.
  • Ensure PrEP clients coming to the facility navigate smoothly through the clinic;
  • Conduct referrals for Key populations to KP programs - where applicable;
  • Provide individual contact with the PrEP clients to help monitor adherence to PrEP medication;
  • Remind PrEP clients on their appointment days through the appropriate means e.g. voice calls, text or WhatsApp;
  • Contact all PrEP clients who miss their appointments and conduct home visits for those who default;
  • Provide individual and group counselling sessions building opportunities to foster adherence to medication, identify strategies to improve adherence for individual clients,
  • Spearhead a community module for PrEP
  • Ensure that all PrEP clients are retested based on the guidelines. (before initiation at month 1 and 3 monthly thereafter)
  • Ensure proper documentation in Kenya EMR, The PrEP register and Defaulter tracing register,
  • Participate in Multi-Disciplinary Teams (MDTs) to discuss PrEP clients/ CQI meetings to discuss PrEP Performance.
  • Initiate and Administrate a facility PrEP WhatsApp group;
  • Be a good role model to PrEP Clients in the facility;
  • Closely monitor achievement of PrEP targets.
  • Coming up with ideas, strategies and proposals on effective service delivery to PrEP clients.
  • Be a peer by sharing personal experiences on PrEP medication with PrEP clients.
  • Any other duties as may be assigned by the supervisor.


Reporting Requirements:

  • Ensure Proper documentation in Kenya EMR- (Follow up with the clinicians to update gaps identified);
  • Ensure that the PrEP register is fully updated;
  • Ensure proper documentation the defaulter tracing register for clients missing their appointments
  • Maintain a PrEP support group file with attendance lists and minutes of the PrEP Support group meetings;
  • Support the PrEP point person in report validation and submission of monthly reports to CHAK by the 5th of every month.


  • He or she should be between the ages of 25-40 years,
  • Must have been on PrEP medication.
  • Holder of K.C.S.E Certificate.
  • Able to communicate in English and Kiswahili.
  • Has advocacy skills (Has the ability to easily connect with people)
  • Able to work at the facility from 8 a.m.-5 p.m. Mondays-Fridays.
  • An active member of the facility support group.
  • Excellent appointment keeping.
  • Has a good rapport with other PrEP clients in the facility.

Added advantage

  • Having worked as an active Community health volunteer.
  • Additional training e.g. in a counselling-related course and or is a NASCOP certified counsellor is an added advantage.


The PrEP Champion shall report to;

1st supervisor: Facility PrEP point person.

2nd Supervisor: CCC coordinator.
