PCEA Chogoria Hospital was established in 1922 and serves as a referral and teaching Hospital. It has a 295 bed capacity that focuses on the provision of Curative, Preventive and Promotive Health Care services in Tharaka Nithi County and the greater Meru, Embu and as far as Isiolo and Marsabit Counties.

The Hospital is recruiting competent and mature Christian Professionals to fill the following vacant positions:


Reporting to the Chief Executive Officer, he/she will be responsible for the finding, agreeing terms, and acquiring of quality goods, services or works to support the Hospital’s delivery of services to both its external and internal customers.

Duties & Responsibilities.

  • Develop procurement strategy, program, policy, procedures, plan and guidelines.
  • Establish and manage a suppliers’ master data list by analyzing requests for quotation from various departments, market conditions, present and future material availability and merchandise price.
  • Communicate list of approved preferred suppliers/vendors/service providers to the management and employees
  • Review, evaluate, and approve specifications for issuing and awarding bids.
  • Review purchase order claims and contracts for conformance to Hospital policy
  • Manage vendor and supplier relationships
  • Liaise with supplies to clarify issues arising from the supplied product, scope/description, pricing, service level duration stated on contractual terms and conditions of purchase.
  • Resolve vendor or contractor grievances, and claims against the procurement amicably or by liasing with the Hospital Management.
  • Develop and monitor the department annual plan and budget
  • Provide technical advice and reports to management when required

Minimum Job Requirements.

  • Diploma in supplies Management or its equivalent qualification from a recognized institution
  • At least three (3) years experience in a procurement environment preferably in a Hospital setting
  • Good computer and communication skills.
  • Must be a mature practicing Christian.

Reporting to the Senior Administrative Secretary, the Administrative Secretary’s main role is to help keep the Hospital to run smoothly by taking care of the Administrative tasks that make the hospital function.

Main Roles and Responsibilities.

  • Receiving visitors and directing them while ensuring they are comfortable and well refreshed
  • Typing of official documents
  • Filling documents
  • Handling incoming and outgoing telephone calls.
  • Ensuring security of office, documents and equipment
  • Maintaining of personal files and other document files
  • Organizing and servicing meetings (producing agendas and taking minutes)
  • Managing databases
  • Handling correspondence
  • Implementing new procedures and administrative systems.
  • Working  closely with HAT and other departments in all matters secretarial and administrative
  • Maintains and projects operations by keeping information confidential

Minimum Requirements.

  • Diploma in Secretarial Services from a recognized institution
  • Must be computer literate  with competency  in  computer applications
  • Must be an individual of high integrity & confidentiality
  • Good communicator both written and spoken
  • Demonstrated Ability and competence in organizing, performing and discharging duties and responsibilities at that level.
  • Must be of high integrity and ethical in work performance.
